It shows that the genre of our trailer can be seen from the trailer. We have followed the conventions of the thriller/ horror genre. It also shows that our target audience has been correctly identified and these are the sorts of films that they too would watch and that our audience would be gamers.

Our Trailer on Youtube

Since we have uploaded the video it has gained nearly 3,000 views and is now the top result when you search “Lockdown official trailer 2012”. Previously, when we had first put up the trailer, it had been 4 or 5 results down the page.

Problems encountered with exporting the trailer.

After we had finished editing the trailer together in Final Cut Pro we experienced a problem with exporting it. When we exported the trailer to Quicktime the video jumped around and got stuck on certain scenes, there were also many green patches on the screen. We then retried and the same thing happened again.
To try and sort it out we looked for websites online that could record the screen. However, all the websites that we tried only worked for Windows. The software was not Mac compatible unless you bought the program.
We then tried to record the screen using a video camera. To do this we had to turn off the lights and black out the window so there was no reflection. This worked and we uploaded the footage to the computer. The only problem we had with this was that the colours of the trailer were a little off. However, by using this method we could upload the trailer to youtube.

Trailer Audience Feedback Questionnaire

The girls in the group and I have brainstormed questions that could be sent to our target audience along with the link to our trailer so we could gain some feedback for our evaluation. We used the website SurveyMonkey to create a 10 question (free limit) survey about what the audience thought about our trailer, with both closed and open questions trying to obtain straight forward and informative views and opinions. I will soon create another survey for our ancillary texts (the film magazine cover and poster design) asking questions much like those in the trailers survey, as well as asking if the audience feel that the three texts appear to match in promoting the same product (Lockdown).
